Planes, trains and an automobile

We were delayed and hour in Sydney. Good old Qantas! The trip to Singapore was uneventful and our stopover was now only 45 minutes. We then took off for Iran, Ukraine and Russian airspace ( if you believed the pre fight displays.)
The crew advised that the display would show our real course after it happened.
The final display showed how we dodged all the hotspots.
We landed safely and stayed overnight in Ealing Broadway (before a 4 train journey to Carlisle), this was suburban London, very busy, many cafes and hotel rooms big enough to get into.

On our last trip we overnighted near Paddington station in central London and our double room was 16sqm.

King Cross station was our last London stop before the train north to Newcastle. The queue was for Platform 9 3/4.
Where could they have been going?

In Carlisle we hired a car and spent the day exploring. We went to Hadrian's wall and visited a Roman Army camp exhibit.
What a horrible life they all had back then.
We then went down the coast to Maryport and Cleator Moor.
The port was full of rusty hulks which looked like they were part of the first fleet.
Cleator Moor is where the Donnelly family landed after departing Ireland.
We think this condemned house was their first English home.Notice the sky. We had a beautiful sunny day, temp 3-11, everyone was happy, happy, happy.Clotheslines in Cleator. We order a world famous pie from the village shop for our lunch on Thursday as this will be our first walking day
Today, Wednesday, we are catching the train from Carlisle to St Bees (Our starting off place).
The train awaits. Bye
