Then we joined a disused 🚂 track and went ever so flat across the moors.
And a view down into a valley with beautiful green pastures segmented by dry stone walls and a farm about every half mile. We saw our first Friesian cows today.
Perched on the top of the far ridge ( above), literally miles from anything, is a pub. The Lion Inn is a rambling grey stone building which looks as dour as its surroundings. On the inside, however, it is warm, exotic, qaint, humorous and welcoming. It was very busy. The car park was full as people drive from up to 50 miles around. Sorry.... no photos!
As usual a beer and cider awaits and I think we should order food soon as people keep arriving for dinner. It's light till about ten
Good Night
