Day 15 Blakey Ridge to Glaisbury

16.9kms (290.7 kms) 174 m gained
This is The Lion Inn from an hour's walk away the next morning. This is a meeting place for hundreds each day.
We walked for another hour across the moors (North Yorkshire Moors National Park) with only Heather, immature bilberries and an occasional sheep for company untill we came across this shepherds refuge (all locked up) with a nice ☀️ shelf to eat our morning tea.
A bit about the weather
We have had 1 ,one, Uno, a solitary day of rain since arriving in England. Most locals we meet rejoice as they have had "non stop rain since Christmas". The temperatures in the Lake District were about 2° to 10° however in the last few days we have had 10° to 20°. The wind started mild built up to three days of Gale force around Keld near the Cumbria/ Yorkshire Border and is now mild again.
Wow!!
This was the view as we left the moors and descended into the valleys around Glaisdale.
We are now only two days from Robin Hood Bay, the North Sea, Whitby Fish and Chips, Dracula's landing place in England and... A well deserved ice cream by the seaside.
Good Night
