York

We caught a local bus (double decker) from Robin Hood's Bay to Scarborough. The skill of the driver, manoeuvring the narrow laneways was breathtaking. From there we took the Trans Pennine Express to York. England's trains are fast smooth and efficient😀
This is the Shambles, and the queue is to buy tickets for a York Ghost tour.
Clare love the York Minster, with Europe's largest stain glass window (no photo as it was covered by scaffolding)
Ross ( and Clare) loved the city walls which cover maybe 3/4 of the old city and gave us enough exercise to earn a coffee.
We sat here and listened to the violinist busker. I Photoshopped away thecouple sitting in front of us.
This cow is pretty neat. They had a sheep and a horse. We want one for our front yard.
Off to the Isle of Man tomorrow

23.6kms (224.3kms) 89 m gained This was a long day over flat often muddy farmland. We are walking on public "right of ways" that have been established by common law and often in use for a thousand years. Sometimes they are a metre wide with a crop on one side and a drainage ditch on the other. Great views from along the river Swale as we leave Richmond and Swaledale (valley) Lunch by the river We had a drink and dinner in the local pub. Our host at our B and B, across the road from the pub, said he only serves meals to walkers and he is hardly ever open in winter. The locals had to sit outside and could only order drinks and crisps!
