Day 7 Orton to Kirkby Stephen

23kms (139kms) 243 m gained
A quiet day today. No rain, but it was windy and sheepish.
We are in short sleeves as it reached 16°.
We saw a rather impressive viaduct in the distance. The train line is disused.
The stone walls were also impressive, and good windbreaks for lunch.
Kirkby Stephen is the largest town we have visited. We had Indian for dinner and bought heal cushions and blister pads. We are both still mobile. Surely we are getting fitter.
Not as fit as a girl we met who has competed in a Coast to Coast Run. The winner did it in about 46hrs.
